Prince of Light
Light is a vital building stone of life. And it is a concept that most people see as a blanket of safety, regardless of their actual beliefs, even the fey seem to enjoy the shining sun upon their skin. The Domain of Light often serves to create beacons of hope, to never allow people to fall into dispair.
Current Prince
The most recently known prince is Yaron, the Dragon of Light. A dragon of massive proportions that is able to unleash a breath of pure radiance. One that does not kill those who lack ill-intend but those who do strife to drag others to darkness would be disintegrated. Followers that claim to have seen their god describe him as an 8-foot tall creature wearing a mask of gold and long flowing black robes. Granted I have never seen any of the princes myself, but... I could imagine either form.
Common Worshippers
Worshippers of light come from anywhere, from any point in the alignment spectrum and from any race. Anyone who has lost hope but has found it again may be embraced in the princes' arms. Though it is important to this prince that those who follow its tenants, and those who believe in them, truly understand themselves first. You must be able to recognise your own light to be able to spread it to others.
Religion
There are many organised religions that span the worlds that believe in the doctrine of light. Key among them are the believers of the sun, which call deserts their home. Many nomadic tribes that live within the world's deserts and savannas often find themselves believing in this religion. It is believed to grant a supernatural resistance to the sun's heat and allow life to thrive in places closest to it. Common tentants in this type of faith are:
- Ecclesiarchy
- Our holy sites are more than just sacred places — they are the very seats of power from which our religious leaders rule.
- Sun Worship
- The light-bringer, the live-giver, the ever-burning flame — It reigns high in the sky as the true sovereign of the world
- Ritual Celebrations
- The worship of the divine is something to be exalted in and shared with our community. Organizing great festivals to honor and praise the divine brings us all together.
It is to be noted that many paladins often serve the Prince of Light, certain clerics may adopt the domains of war or zeal to show their willingness. Though this often paints the followers of light in a bad, warmongering picture, it is merely done because those who believe in this type of faith strife to serve and protect others. To become these beacons that are so revered, those who accomplish this task and prove beacons, are often labelled Saints.
